I had the chance to photograph one of the most beautiful and emotional moments in a couple’s life: a marriage proposal. Let me tell you this incredible story.
It was a Saturday in January. V. and L. had decided to spend a romantic weekend in a beautiful hotel in the resort of Megève to celebrate the imminent arrival of their second child. Wanting to enjoy a peaceful moment before welcoming their baby, V. had planned everything to make the weekend perfect: a five-star hotel, a relaxing spa moment, a gourmet dinner, and, as the surprise of the day, a horse-drawn carriage ride to the restaurant.

What L. didn’t know was that an entire team was working behind the scenes to help V. plan the biggest surprise of her life. Chloé and Typhaine searched for the perfect place to make this proposal magical and unforgettable. They found the ideal spot: the restaurant terrace overlooking the valley and surrounding peaks, offering a spectacular sunset. What more could you ask for?
As the sun was setting on the horizon, V. got down on one knee in front of a beautiful floral arch and asked L. to marry him. With tears in her eyes, she said yes, in a moment filled with emotion and tenderness.
I was incredibly happy and honored to take part in this unique and unforgettable moment by capturing the memories this couple will keep from this instant—the most beautiful way to celebrate the arrival of their future child.
I’ll leave you with a few photos from the shoot, as well as the video by Stéphane, a member of the Studio Semit team, who captured this perfect proposal in the most beautiful way.

Avoid social pressure: A marriage proposal is a personal and unique moment between two people. It’s important to detach from social expectations and focus on what is authentic and meaningful for you as a couple. Don’t let societal norms dictate how your proposal should unfold. Stay true to yourselves and your relationship.
Create a personalized experience: A successful proposal reflects the couple’s personality and values. Think about what truly matters to both of you and create an experience that feels like you. Whether it’s intimate and romantic or a bold adventure, let your love and connection guide your choices.
Take time to relax: A proposal can generate stress and anxiety. Before the big day, take time to relax your mind and body. Meditate, practice yoga, take a relaxing bath, or do anything that helps you recharge.
Feel confident: Self-confidence is essential during a proposal. Take care of yourself, dress in a way that makes you feel good, and pay attention to your appearance. When you feel good in your own skin, it shows in your energy and presence.

A marriage proposal is a magical and unique moment in a couple’s life. Don’t let outside expectations dictate how it should happen. Be creative, inspired, and true to yourselves. Create an experience that represents your love and deep connection. Whether in a romantic place, during an exciting adventure, or in the intimacy of your home, make this proposal unforgettable and filled with your essence.
Remember, what matters most is the love you share and the commitment you are about to make together. May this proposal mark the beginning of a beautiful journey filled with love and happiness.
